Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Petroleum Geologist to join our dynamic team in Omagh. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a variety of international oil and gas projects, leveraging your expertise in subsurface interpretation and reservoir characterization. You will play a crucial part in evaluating geological risks, optimizing drilling locations, and supporting field development plans for our global clients. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed geological interpretation of seismic, well, and core data.
  • Develop and maintain geological models (structural, stratigraphic, facies) for hydrocarbon reservoirs.
  • Perform petrophysical analysis and integrate results into geological models.
  • Participate in well planning, including target definition, well trajectory design, and geological prognoses.
  • Assess subsurface uncertainties and quantify geological risks.
  • Prepare comprehensive geological reports, presentations, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including geophysicists, reservoir engineers, and drilling engineers.
  • Stay updated with industry best practices, new technologies, and software advancements in petroleum geology.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in petroleum geology, including seismic interpretation and subsurface mapping.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard geological software (e.g., Petrel, DecisionSpace, OpenWorks).
  • Strong understanding of sedimentology, stratigraphy, and structural geology.
  • Experience with well log correlation and petrophysical analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, international environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience with unconventional resource plays or carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects.
  • Familiarity with geological uncertainty analysis and volumetric estimation techniques.
  • Previous experience working on international projects across diverse geological basins.
