Job Description
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to start a career in surveying with full training provided? Arcadis is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as Surveying Field Hands. This entry-level position is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, is eager to learn new skills, and is comfortable with travel across various regions. You will play a crucial role in collecting essential data for a diverse range of projects, from infrastructure development to environmental studies, all while receiving comprehensive on-the-job training from experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior surveyors in conducting various types of field surveys, including topographical, boundary, and construction layout.
- Operate and maintain surveying equipment such as GPS receivers, total stations, and levels.
- Perform physical tasks including setting up tripods, holding prism poles, and marking survey points.
- Record field notes, measurements, and other data accurately and legibly.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company procedures on all job sites.
- Travel to project sites across different regions as required, which may involve overnight stays.
- Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and landowners.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Valid UK driving license and a clean driving record.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in construction, landscaping, or outdoor manual labor is a plus, but not required.
- Basic knowledge of mathematics and geometry.
- Experience with basic hand tools.
- A proactive and problem-solving attitude.
