Job Description
Are you looking for a new career path and passionate about safety and security? GardaWorld is offering an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Security Officer in Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia. No prior experience is required, as we provide comprehensive training and even fund your Security Industry Authority (SIA) license. This role is perfect for individuals who are reliable, observant, and eager to learn the fundamentals of security operations. You will be an integral part of maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, contributing to our mission of protection and peace of mind.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of designated areas, checking for unauthorized persons, security breaches, and potential hazards.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV, and promptly report any suspicious activities or incidents.
- Respond effectively to alarms, emergencies, and security-related situations, following established protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and observations.
- Provide excellent customer service, assisting visitors and employees with directions and information.
- Enforce company policies and procedures to ensure a safe and orderly environment.
- Collaborate with team members and management to enhance security measures and resolve issues.
Required Skills
- No prior security experience required; full training provided.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to obtain an SIA license (funded by GardaWorld).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
- Basic computer proficiency for report writing and monitoring.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Reliable and punctual.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
