Job Description
Join AccentCare as a dedicated Home Health Aide and become an essential part of our patient care team in New Port Richey, Florida. Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Provide light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry and tidying patient areas.
- Help with mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment.
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the supervising nurse.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring dietary guidelines are followed.
- Administer medication reminders as directed by the care plan.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients.
- Document care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
Required Skills
- Valid Home Health Aide certification in Florida.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow care plans and instructions accurately.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to patient homes.
- Ability to lift and move patients with assistance as needed.
- Basic understanding of health and safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish, Creole, or other languages prevalent in the community).
- Previous experience working as a Home Health Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
