Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Weekend Event Decorator Aide with a focus on floral design to join our dynamic team. This part-time position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about events, possess a keen eye for aesthetics, and are eager to gain hands-on experience in floral preparation and event setup. You will play a crucial supporting role in bringing our clients’ dream events to life, primarily working on weekends to assist our lead decorators with various tasks related to floral design, decor setup, and event breakdown.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead decorators with the preparation of floral arrangements, including cleaning flowers, trimming stems, and arranging blooms according to design specifications.
- Help unload, unpack, and organize event decor items and floral supplies at our studio and event venues.
- Support the setup of event decor elements, including floral installations, centerpieces, linens, and props, ensuring precise placement and aesthetic appeal.
- Provide on-site assistance during events as needed, ensuring all decor remains perfect.
- Assist with the efficient breakdown and cleanup of event decor following events, including packing, loading, and transporting items back to the studio.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the floral design studio and storage areas.
- Help with inventory management for floral and decor supplies.
- Perform other supportive duties as assigned by the lead decorator or event manager.
Required Skills
- Strong interest and passion for floral design and event decor.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
- Capable of working independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and carry items up to 30 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks (e.g., cutting flowers).
- Reliable transportation to our studio in New Port Richey and various event venues in the surrounding area.
- Availability to work primarily on weekends (Fridays, Saturdays, and/or Sundays) as required by event schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (even informal) in floral arranging, event setup, or a similar creative role.
- Basic knowledge of different flower types and care.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
