Job Description

Join Amazon’s world-class operations team as a Maintenance Tech with a specialized focus on conveyor belt systems in our Pasco warehouse. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex conveyor systems and other material handling equipment crucial to our daily operations. You will work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency of our automated systems, contributing directly to our ability to deliver smiles to customers. This is an on-site position vital to the smooth functioning of our fulfillment center.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on conveyor systems, sortation equipment, and other material handling technologies.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using various testing equipment and schematics.
  • Execute repairs, replacements, and adjustments to conveyor components such as belts, motors, pulleys, sensors, and control systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintain detailed maintenance records.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and procedures, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout).
  • Collaborate with operations teams to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and training programs.

Required Skills

  • 2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience with conveyor systems, including belt tracking, motor replacement, and sensor calibration.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools, and various testing equipment (multimeters, calipers).
  • Basic understanding of PLC logic and controls.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a physically demanding role.
  • Strong commitment to safety.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Familiarity with robotic systems or automated guided vehicles (AGVs).
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
  • Prior experience working in an Amazon fulfillment center or similar large-scale logistics operation.
