Job Description

Are you looking to embark on a new and rewarding career? Eddie Stobart Logistics is offering an incredible opportunity to become a qualified HGV Driver through our comprehensive Trainee program. No prior HGV experience is required – we’re looking for motivated individuals ready to learn and commit to a fulfilling career on the road. This role provides full training support, guiding you through every step of obtaining your Class 1 (Category C+E) HGV license, alongside practical experience in a supportive environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in all theoretical and practical HGV driver training modules.
  • Shadow experienced HGV drivers on their routes to understand daily operations and best practices.
  • Learn and adhere to all road safety regulations, vehicle operation procedures, and company policies.
  • Assist with vehicle checks, loading/unloading procedures, and administrative tasks as required during training.
  • Maintain a professional and positive attitude, demonstrating a strong commitment to learning and development.
  • Successfully pass all required HGV driving tests to achieve Class 1 qualification.

Required Skills

  • Full UK driving license (Category B) with no more than 6 penalty points.
  • Minimum 18 months of driving experience with a Category B license.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to road traffic laws.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A self-motivated and disciplined approach to learning.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including potential weekends, during training and upon qualification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a customer service or physically demanding role.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude or familiarity with vehicle maintenance checks.
  • Residing within a commutable distance of Bridge of Don, Aberdeen.
