Job Description
Join FedEx Ground as an Operations Associate and become an integral part of our package handling and delivery network. This role is crucial for maintaining the smooth flow of operations within our facilities, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in processing shipments. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks that contribute to the timely and safe movement of packages, from sorting and loading to maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload packages from vehicles and conveyor systems.
- Sort packages according to destination, ensuring accurate placement for outbound routes.
- Operate various material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts (training provided if necessary).
- Scan and track packages using handheld devices.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Assist with other general warehouse duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational goals.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 75 lbs (with assistance if over 50 lbs).
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Basic computer skills for scanning and data entry.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or package handling environment.
- Experience operating material handling equipment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
