Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Remote Client Specialist to join our global support team. This is a 100% remote position focused exclusively on providing outstanding written support to Shopify merchants. You will be the first point of contact for our merchants, helping them navigate our platform, troubleshoot issues, and utilize Shopify’s powerful features to grow their businesses. Your role is critical in ensuring a seamless and positive experience for our entrepreneurial community, all through clear, concise, and helpful written communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional written support to Shopify merchants via email, chat, and other asynchronous communication channels.
  • Proactively identify and resolve merchant issues, ranging from technical inquiries to business strategy questions, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Educate merchants on Shopify features, best practices, and new product releases to help them maximize their store's potential.
  • Document interactions and solutions thoroughly in our CRM system, contributing to our knowledge base.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., product, engineering) to escalate complex issues and provide merchant feedback.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of Shopify's platform, apps, and the broader e-commerce ecosystem.
  • Meet and exceed individual and team performance metrics, including response times and customer satisfaction.

Required Skills

  • Excellent written communication skills with impeccable grammar and spelling.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
  • High level of empathy and a genuine desire to help others succeed.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
  • Proficiency with common office software and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Prior experience in customer service or a client-facing role is highly valued, but strong foundational skills will be considered for entry-level candidates.

  • Familiarity with the Shopify platform or other e-commerce platforms.
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Zendesk).
  • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS or web development concepts.
