Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our team in Orem, Utah. This role is critical to our daily operations, involving the efficient and safe movement of freight within our warehouse and loading docks. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated proficiency in operating both counterbalance and reach trucks, possess a strong commitment to safety protocols, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
- Operate counterbalance and reach forklifts safely and efficiently to load, unload, stack, and move products and materials.
- Verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments against invoices and shipping documents.
- Perform daily equipment checks and minor maintenance tasks, reporting any malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Organize and maintain inventory in designated warehouse locations, ensuring proper rotation and accessibility.
- Assist with manual loading and unloading of freight as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, contributing to overall warehouse efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and truck drivers to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience operating counterbalance and reach forklifts.
- Current forklift operator certification or ability to obtain one upon hire.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and practices.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Basic computer literacy for scanning and inventory management systems.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Familiarity with FedEx operational procedures.
- Prior experience in a high-volume logistics or distribution center.
