Job Description
Are you looking to kickstart a rewarding career in security but lack the necessary experience or an SIA licence? GardaWorld is offering a unique opportunity for aspiring security professionals to join our team as a Trainee Security Officer in Quispamsis. We believe in investing in our people, which is why we will fund your Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence, providing you with all the essential training and support needed to succeed in this vital role. This is a fantastic entry-level position for motivated individuals eager to learn and make a difference, protecting people and assets within our community.
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence.
- Monitor surveillance equipment and alarm systems.
- Respond to emergencies and alarms, following established protocols.
- Write detailed reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
- Control access points, verifying credentials of personnel and visitors.
- Enforce company policies and procedures to ensure a safe and secure environment.
- Liaise with emergency services and management during incidents.
- Provide excellent customer service and assistance to clients, visitors, and employees.
- Conduct safety checks and identify potential risks.
Required Skills
- No prior security experience required; full training provided.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to obtain an SIA Licence (funded by GardaWorld).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good physical condition to perform patrols and stand for long periods.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Clear criminal record check.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Previous customer service experience.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
