Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic rehabilitation team in El Paso, TX. This is a unique opportunity for qualified international candidates, as we offer sponsorship. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing therapeutic interventions to help patients regain independence in daily living and working skills. You will work with a diverse patient population across various settings, contributing to our mission of health and healing.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations to determine patient needs and goals.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based practices.
- Provide therapeutic interventions, including functional training, adaptive equipment recommendations, and environmental modifications.
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, home exercise programs, and safety precautions.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities.
- Adhere to all professional, ethical, and legal standards of practice and maintain accurate patient records.
Required Skills
- Doctorate or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current or eligible for Occupational Therapy licensure in the state of Texas.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic reasoning skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing patient-centered treatment plans.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a licensed Occupational Therapist.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations (pediatric, adult, geriatric).
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is highly desirable.
- Specialization or certification in a relevant area (e.g., hand therapy, neurological rehabilitation, low vision).
