Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Agrochemical Chemist with a strong focus on Fertilizer & Crop Science to join our innovative research and development team in New Port Richey, FL. In this pivotal role, you will contribute to the discovery, development, and optimization of novel fertilizers, crop protection products, and sustainable agricultural solutions. You will be responsible for conducting laboratory and field experiments, analyzing data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring cutting-edge products to market that address global food security challenges and environmental sustainability. This is an on-site position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute laboratory and greenhouse experiments to evaluate the efficacy and characteristics of new agrochemical formulations, focusing on fertilizers and crop protection.
  • Synthesize and characterize novel chemical compounds for potential use in agricultural applications.
  • Develop and optimize analytical methods for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of active ingredients and formulations.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of experimental data, interpret results, and prepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations.
  • Collaborate with biologists, agronomists, and product development teams to translate research findings into viable commercial products.
  • Ensure all research activities comply with safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental guidelines.
  • Stay abreast of new scientific literature, technologies, and regulatory requirements in agrochemistry and crop science.
  • Manage laboratory equipment, maintain inventory, and troubleshoot analytical instruments.

Required Skills

  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge in organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, and agrochemistry.
  • Proficiency in spectroscopic and chromatographic techniques (e.g., NMR, IR, UV-Vis, GC-MS, LC-MS, HPLC).
  • Demonstrated ability to design experiments, collect, analyze, and interpret complex data.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and presentations.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., Excel, R, Python).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Agrochemicals, Crop Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with controlled release technologies or precision nutrient delivery systems.
  • Familiarity with regulatory processes for agrochemical product registration (e.g., EPA, FDA).
  • Experience in a commercial R&D setting within the agriculture or chemical industry.
  • Knowledge of plant physiology, soil science, and crop nutrition.
