Job Description

Kal Tire in Salmon Arm is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team as a General Service Technician (Trainee)! We believe in investing in our people, which means we will provide all the necessary training for you to succeed. No prior experience or tools required – just a willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic. Key Responsibilities
- Learn and perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
- Assist senior technicians with more complex repairs and diagnostics, actively observing and participating.
- Perform thorough vehicle inspections to identify potential issues and ensure customer safety.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the service bay.
- Mount, balance, and repair tires for various vehicle types.
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding vehicle status and services performed.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs.
Required Skills
- Eagerness and ability to learn new mechanical skills quickly.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong commitment to safety.
- Excellent work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Some exposure to automotive mechanics (e.g., hobbyist, school projects).
- Customer service experience.
