Job Description
Are you a passionate, recently licensed cosmetologist or a talented individual eager to specialize in hair coloring? Charles Scott Salons & Day Spas is seeking a dedicated Junior Colorist to join our team, offering comprehensive paid training in advanced balayage and highlights techniques. This is a unique opportunity to launch your career in a luxury salon environment, working alongside experienced professionals and mastering sought-after coloring skills. We provide all the tools and mentorship needed for you to succeed and grow into a master colorist.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively participate in and complete a structured paid training program focused on balayage, highlights, and other advanced coloring techniques.
- Assist senior colorists with client consultations, color formulations, applications, and rinsing processes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workstation and salon area.
- Learn and adhere to all salon safety, sanitation, and client service protocols.
- Shadow and observe senior colorists during client appointments to gain practical experience.
- Develop excellent client communication skills, including pre- and post-service care advice.
- Attend regular team meetings and continuous education sessions to stay updated on industry trends.
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive and memorable client experience.
Required Skills
- Valid Ohio Cosmetology License or ability to obtain one prior to start date.
- Strong passion for hair coloring and a desire to learn advanced techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Punctual, reliable, and strong work ethic.
- Positive attitude and a commitment to client satisfaction.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks associated with salon work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of color theory.
- Previous experience assisting in a salon setting (internship or part-time).
- Portfolio (even if student work) showcasing creativity or interest in hair styling.
