Job Description

We are seeking highly motivated and reliable independent Process Servers to deliver legal documents (e.g., summonses, subpoenas, complaints) in a professional and timely manner. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in the field. As an independent contractor, you will manage your own schedule while meeting deadlines and adhering to all legal requirements for service of process. This is a crucial role in ensuring the proper functioning of the legal system, requiring discretion and adherence to strict protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and review legal documents for service.
  • Plan efficient routes and schedule appointments for service when necessary.
  • Attempt service of process diligently and in accordance with provincial and federal laws.
  • Complete and file Affidavits of Service promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain detailed records of all service attempts and successful serves.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and the dispatch team regarding service status.
  • Adhere to all confidentiality protocols and ethical standards.
  • Manage and organize personal case files efficiently.

Required Skills

  • Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle.
  • Proof of vehicle insurance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Basic computer proficiency for record-keeping and communication.
  • Ability to navigate using maps and GPS systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Process Server or in a related field (e.g., courier, investigations).
  • Knowledge of New Brunswick provincial laws regarding service of process.
  • Familiarity with legal terminology and documents.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations with tact and composure.
  • Comfortable working in diverse environments and interacting with various individuals.
