Job Description
Are you a highly organized individual with a keen eye for detail and a passion for navigating urban environments? FedEx is seeking a diligent Package Return Runner to support our operations in the Central Business District (CBD) and inner-city areas of New Port Richey, FL. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for efficiently collecting packages from designated pickup points, ensuring they are properly documented, and transporting them back to our local facility for processing. This position requires excellent time management, reliability, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute daily routes to collect packages from businesses and residential customers within the CBD and inner-city areas.
- Verify package contents against return authorizations and manifest sheets.
- Accurately document all pickups, including package count, condition, and recipient information.
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with customers, providing a professional and courteous service experience.
- Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of assigned vehicle and equipment.
- Report any discrepancies or issues encountered during pickup or transit to the dispatch team.
- Ensure timely delivery of collected packages to the local FedEx facility for sorting and onward shipping.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry packages up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
- Excellent geographical knowledge of New Port Richey, FL, especially the CBD and inner-city zones.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a structured daily route.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and communication.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a courier, delivery, or logistics role.
- Experience with handheld scanning devices or mobile logistics applications.
- Familiarity with FedEx operational procedures.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
