Job Description
Are you looking to start a career in construction? M&M Jamaica Ltd is seeking enthusiastic and hardworking Construction Labourers to join our growing team in New Kingston. No prior experience is required, and we will cover the cost of your CSCS Card training and certification! This is an incredible opportunity to get your foot in the door with a reputable company and gain valuable skills in the construction industry. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals on various exciting projects, learning the ropes and contributing to the successful completion of our builds. We’re looking for individuals who are reliable, eager to learn, and committed to safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespersons (e.g., carpenters, masons, electricians) with their tasks.
- Prepare construction sites by cleaning debris, loading and unloading materials, and setting up equipment.
- Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision.
- Dig trenches, compact earth, and backfill excavations.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Perform other general labour duties as assigned by the site supervisor.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a physical labour role (not necessarily construction).
- Basic understanding of construction site safety.
- Valid driver's license (not essential but a bonus).
