Job Description
Are you a highly meticulous individual with native-level fluency in English and Spanish? RWS Group is seeking a dedicated English/Spanish Translation Verifier to join our dynamic team in Harrogate. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality and accuracy of translated content from Spanish to English, upholding RWS’s commitment to excellence. This ‘Smart Working’ role offers flexibility, blending on-site collaboration with remote work to support your professional and personal life.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive linguistic verification and quality assurance of translated content from Spanish into English.
- Review translations for accuracy, completeness, grammatical correctness, stylistic consistency, and adherence to client-specific terminology and style guides.
- Identify and document linguistic errors, providing clear and constructive feedback to translators.
- Collaborate with project managers, linguists, and other team members to ensure timely delivery of high-quality localized content.
- Maintain and update linguistic assets such as glossaries, translation memories, and style guides.
- Participate in root cause analysis of quality issues and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Stay up-to-date with language industry trends and best practices in translation quality assurance.
Required Skills
- Native-level proficiency in English (target language).
- Exceptional fluency in Spanish (source language).
- Strong understanding of grammar, syntax, and cultural nuances in both English and Spanish.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a keen eye for linguistic discrepancies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Translation, Modern Languages, or a related field.
- Previous experience in translation, localization, or linguistic quality assurance.
- Familiarity with CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) tools such as Trados Studio, MemoQ, or similar.
- Experience working with diverse content types (technical, marketing, legal, etc.).
