Job Description
Are you passionate about traditional craft brewing and keen to get hands-on with the raw ingredients? Camden Town Brewery is seeking a dedicated Hops Picker to join our passionate team. This crucial entry-level role supports our brewing operations by ensuring the careful selection and preparation of hops, maintaining the quality and integrity of our beloved beers. As a Hops Picker, you will be an integral part of our production process, working closely with the brewing team. You’ll gain firsthand experience in the art of brewing, from the very first step of ingredient preparation. This is a physically active role that requires attention to detail and a commitment to quality, contributing directly to the distinctive taste and aroma of our award-winning beers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually pick and sort hops, ensuring only the highest quality cones are selected for brewing.
- Prepare hops for drying and storage, following strict brewery standards.
- Assist with the weighing and packaging of hops for various brew batches.
- Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of hops processing areas and equipment.
- Support general brewery operations, including cleaning, organizing, and assisting brewers as needed.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards.
Required Skills
- A strong work ethic and the ability to perform physical tasks, including standing for long periods and lifting moderate weights.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively within a team.
- A genuine interest in brewing or agricultural processes.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the UK.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in agriculture, horticulture, or a similar manual labor role is a plus.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- A passion for craft beer and the brewing industry.
