Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Financial Accountant to join our finance team based in Bexley, London. This critical role involves overseeing complex financial reporting, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will be a key player in our financial operations, driving process improvements and contributing to a robust control environment. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with IFRS and company policies.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all reconciliations and analyses are completed efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with all local statutory reporting requirements and tax regulations.
- Act as a key contact for external auditors, managing audit requests and ensuring resolution of audit queries.
- Develop and implement robust internal controls and financial policies to safeguard company assets.
- Provide expert financial analysis and insights to support business units and senior management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Mentor and support junior members of the finance team.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to resolve financial issues and support business objectives.
Required Skills
- ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualification (or equivalent international qualification)
- Minimum 6 years of experience in a financial accounting role, preferably within a large multinational corporation
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP
- Proficiency in SAP or other major ERP systems
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, complex formulas)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with financial modelling and forecasting
- Exposure to shared service center environments
- Prior experience in the FMCG industry
- Knowledge of UK tax regulations (VAT, Corporation Tax)
