Job Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Golang Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining highly scalable and robust microservices that power MercadoLibre’s core platforms. You will work within a collaborative, cross-functional team, contributing to the full software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy high-performance, scalable, and resilient microservices using Go.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and implement new features and services.
- Contribute to the architecture and design of new systems, ensuring maintainability, scalability, and security.
- Optimize existing systems for improved performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
- Participate in code reviews, ensuring high code quality and adherence to best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures.
- Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge within the team.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential application.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Golang development.
- Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, MongoDB).
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and asynchronous communication patterns.
- Proficiency with version control systems, especially Git.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of other programming languages (e.g., Python, Java) is a plus.
- Experience with message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Contributions to open-source projects or a strong portfolio of personal projects.
