Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Spa Water Quality Tech to join our maintenance team at The Grand Hotel, Eastbourne. This entry-level position is perfect for someone keen to learn and develop a career in facilities management within a luxury hospitality setting. Full training will be provided to ensure you are confident in all aspects of spa water testing, treatment, and maintenance protocols. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the highest standards of water quality across our spa facilities, contributing directly to the health, safety, and comfort of our guests. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily water quality tests for all spa pools, hot tubs, and water features, following established procedures.
- Accurately record and report test results, taking corrective actions as required under supervision.
- Handle and apply water treatment chemicals safely and according to guidelines (training provided).
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on filtration systems, pumps, and other spa equipment.
- Monitor and maintain chemical stock levels, ensuring proper storage and timely reordering.
- Collaborate with the wider maintenance team on general facility upkeep and repairs.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the maintenance manager promptly.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills for recording data and understanding instructions.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new technical skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good communication skills to report findings and interact with colleagues.
- Physical fitness to perform duties including lifting and standing for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a maintenance, cleaning, or similar role (not essential as training is given).
- Basic understanding of health and safety practices.
