Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Pinterest API Specialist to join our dynamic team. This is a technical remote role focused on leveraging the Pinterest API to build, optimize, and maintain integrations that enhance our platform’s capabilities for merchants. You will be instrumental in developing solutions that connect Shopify’s vast ecosystem with Pinterest’s powerful visual discovery engine, enabling our merchants to reach new customers, drive sales, and grow their brands. This role requires a strong understanding of API development, data structures, and a keen eye for optimizing performance and user experience within the Pinterest ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust integrations with the Pinterest API, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and marketing teams to define requirements and implement features that leverage Pinterest's functionalities.
- Monitor API performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions to ensure seamless operation.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Pinterest API changes, best practices, and industry trends to continuously improve our integrations.
- Develop and implement monitoring tools and alerts for API health and data integrity.
- Provide technical expertise and support for Pinterest API related inquiries and issues.
- Document API integration processes, technical specifications, and troubleshooting guides.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience in software development or API integration, specifically with RESTful APIs.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Node.js, Ruby, Java).
- Strong understanding of data formats like JSON and XML.
- Demonstrated experience working with the Pinterest API or similar social media/e-commerce APIs.
- Ability to debug complex API issues and identify root causes.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience with e-commerce platforms and their ecosystem.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
