Job Description
We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead our technology strategy and operations. The CIO will be instrumental in driving digital transformation, enhancing cybersecurity posture, optimising IT infrastructure, and fostering innovation across all business units. This senior leadership role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background and proven experience in managing large-scale IT operations within a dynamic financial services environment. The successful candidate will report directly to the CEO and will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for aligning technology initiatives with overall business objectives and ensuring the efficient and secure delivery of IT services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy that aligns with the company's business goals and growth objectives.
- Oversee all aspects of IT operations, including infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, data management, and support services.
- Lead digital transformation initiatives, leveraging emerging technologies to drive business innovation and efficiency.
- Manage significant IT budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and cost-effective delivery of services.
- Establish and enforce robust cybersecurity policies and procedures to protect company data and systems.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Collaborate with other executive leaders to identify technological opportunities and challenges.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards related to IT.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in IT governance, project management, and service delivery.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies and solutions to enhance operational capabilities and competitive advantage.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 10 years in senior IT leadership roles, with at least 5 years as a CIO or equivalent in a large organisation.
- Demonstrable experience in developing and executing IT strategies that support business growth.
- Deep understanding of modern IT infrastructure, cloud computing, data analytics, and cybersecurity frameworks.
- Proven track record of managing large IT budgets and complex technology projects.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Expertise in IT governance, risk management, and compliance within regulated industries.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a technology-related field.
- Experience in the financial services or insurance industry.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, PMP, or ITIL.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Proven experience with large-scale digital transformation programmes.
