Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Remote Public Policy Researcher to join our dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to critical policy debates and generate impactful insights from the comfort of your home. You will be responsible for conducting rigorous research, analyzing data, and synthesizing findings to inform policy recommendations across various sectors. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute quantitative and qualitative research studies on a variety of public policy topics.
  • Collect, clean, and analyze complex datasets using appropriate statistical software and methodologies.
  • Draft research reports, policy briefs, and presentations for diverse audiences, including policymakers, academics, and the public.
  • Conduct literature reviews and synthesize existing research to provide context for new studies.
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, project managers, and external stakeholders.
  • Present research findings at conferences, workshops, and client meetings.
  • Contribute to the development of research proposals and secure funding for future projects.
  • Stay abreast of current events and developments in relevant policy areas.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in public policy research or a related field (e.g., economics, sociology, political science).
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with an ability to interpret complex data.
  • Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, Python, Stata, SPSS) and data visualization tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in technical and policy writing.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously under flexible conditions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of research methodologies and ethical considerations.
  • A Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, Sociology, Political Science, or a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in a relevant field.
  • Experience with grant writing and proposal development.
  • Prior experience working in a think tank, government agency, or academic research institution.
  • Familiarity with qualitative research methods (e.g., interviews, focus groups) and software (e.g., NVivo).
