Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Optometrist to join our thriving practice in Coventry. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations using state-of-the-art equipment.
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of ocular conditions and diseases.
- Prescribe and dispense appropriate corrective lenses, including spectacles and contact lenses.
- Provide clear, concise, and empathetic patient education on eye health and vision care.
- Collaborate effectively with dispensing opticians and other clinic staff to ensure a seamless patient journey.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with professional guidelines.
- Participate in continuous professional development and training initiatives.
- Adhere to all clinical governance and professional standards set by regulatory bodies.
Required Skills
- Degree in Optometry from an accredited institution.
- Eligibility for registration with the General Optical Council (GOC) in the UK.
- Excellent clinical skills and diagnostic capabilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English.
- A patient-focused approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality care.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience as an Optometrist.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced retail optometry setting.
- Additional specialisms or accreditations (e.g., independent prescribing, glaucoma referral).
- Familiarity with UK optical regulations and healthcare systems.
