Job Description
Join the vibrant team at the Adler Theatre as a Part-time Theater Usher! We are looking for enthusiastic and service-oriented individuals to enhance the experience for our patrons during evening and matinee performances. This role is perfect for someone passionate about the arts, who enjoys interacting with the public, and is available for a flexible schedule. As an usher, you will be the face of the theatre, ensuring guests have a safe, comfortable, and memorable visit from the moment they arrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and welcome all patrons to the theatre.
- Efficiently scan tickets and guide patrons to their assigned seats.
- Provide accurate information regarding theatre facilities, exits, and upcoming events.
- Assist patrons with special needs, including wheelchair access and seating.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in the lobby and seating areas before, during, and after performances.
- Enforce theatre policies to ensure an enjoyable experience for all guests.
- Handle patron inquiries and resolve minor issues with a professional and friendly demeanor.
- Prepare the theatre for performances, including distributing programs and checking seating arrangements.
- Respond to emergencies and provide assistance as directed by management.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Professional and positive attitude with a polished appearance.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, walk up and down stairs, and lift up to 15 lbs.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holiday matinees as scheduled.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or a theatre environment.
- Familiarity with the performing arts and live event operations.
- Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency procedures.
