Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Machine Translation Verifier with a strong linguistic focus to join our remote team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the linguistic quality and accuracy of machine-translated content across various domains and languages. You will review, edit, and provide critical feedback on machine translation outputs, contributing directly to the improvement of our MT engines and overall content quality for our global clients. This is a 100% remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work with a diverse and international team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform post-editing and linguistic verification of machine-translated content to ensure accuracy, fluency, and adherence to specific client guidelines and style guides.
- Identify, categorize, and document linguistic errors in machine translation output (e.g., grammar, syntax, terminology, style, cultural appropriateness).
- Provide clear, actionable feedback to improve machine translation engine performance and quality.
- Collaborate with project managers, linguists, and MT engineers to address quality issues and refine workflows.
- Maintain consistency in translation quality across large volumes of content.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in machine translation technology and linguistic best practices.
Required Skills
- Native-level fluency in English and at least one other language (specify language if required for a specific project, e.g., Spanish, German, French).
- Exceptional linguistic analysis and critical thinking skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify subtle nuances in language.
- Proficiency in using CAT tools (Computer-Assisted Translation) or willingness to learn.
- Understanding of machine translation concepts and common MT error types.
- Excellent written communication skills to provide clear feedback and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Translation, Philology, or a related field.
- Previous experience in translation, localization, post-editing, or linguistic quality assurance.
- Familiarity with various MT platforms and evaluation methodologies.
- Experience working with diverse content types (e.g., technical, marketing, legal, medical).
- Certification in translation or localization.
