Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Mobile Hospital Porter to join our dynamic team, providing essential support across multiple Spire Healthcare sites within the Derby and wider Derbyshire region. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our hospitals by transporting patients, equipment, specimens, and supplies efficiently and safely. The successful candidate will be a vital link in our patient care pathway, working closely with clinical and administrative staff. Travel between sites will be required, and associated travel costs will be covered.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport patients, including those with mobility challenges, to and from wards, departments, and other areas using appropriate equipment.
- Move medical equipment, beds, furniture, and supplies between various hospital locations as required.
- Handle and transport confidential patient notes, specimens, and laboratory samples with care and discretion.
- Assist with the delivery and collection of goods, mail, and other items across multiple sites.
- Ensure all areas are kept clean and tidy, reporting any hazards or maintenance issues promptly.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, and staff at all times.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, infection control policies, and company procedures.
- Maintain a respectful and empathetic approach, especially when interacting with patients and their families.
- Operate and maintain portering equipment, ensuring it is in good working order and reporting any defects.
- Undertake other duties as required to support the efficient running of hospital services across multiple locations.

- Full UK driving license and access to reliable transportation for multi-site travel.

- Knowledge of health and safety procedures within a hospital environment.
- Experience working across multiple locations or sites.
