Job Description

As a FedEx Freight Professional, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and timely transportation of freight across our extensive network. This high-demand position requires a dedicated individual with a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and excellent operational skills. You will be responsible for various aspects of freight operations, from loading and unloading to documentation and customer interaction, all while upholding FedEx Freight’s industry-leading standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently load and unload freight using appropriate equipment.
  • Operate company vehicles and equipment in compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
  • Accurately complete all required paperwork, including manifests, bills of lading, and daily logs.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, dispatch, and other team members.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Participate in ongoing training and safety programs.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in freight handling or logistics operations.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy freight (up to 75 lbs regularly).
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid Class A CDL with Hazmat, Tanker, and Doubles/Triples endorsements (if applicable to specific role within Freight Professional).
  • Clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with FedEx Freight or a similar LTL carrier.
  • Familiarity with freight management systems and technology.
  • Certification in forklift operation or other material handling equipment.
  • High school diploma or GED; some college coursework or vocational training preferred.
