Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Quality Control Assistant to join our production team in Bath. This role is crucial for maintaining the high standards of our fresh handmade cosmetics, ensuring that all products meet Lush’s strict quality specifications from raw materials to finished goods. You will work closely with production, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to uphold our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and tests on incoming raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
- Record and analyze quality control data, identifying trends and potential areas for improvement.
- Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to established quality standards and procedures.
- Assist in the investigation of quality deviations and non-conformances, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Prepare detailed quality reports and maintain accurate documentation of all QC activities.
- Collaborate with production teams to provide training and guidance on quality best practices.
- Ensure all equipment used for testing and inspection is calibrated and maintained.
- Support the development and revision of quality control procedures and specifications.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the workplace.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a quality control or assurance role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent data recording and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in using basic laboratory equipment and measurement tools.
- Basic understanding of quality management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- A qualification in a scientific or technical discipline (e.g., Chemistry, Food Science, Manufacturing).
- Experience in the cosmetics, food, or pharmaceutical industry.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Knowledge of relevant UK/EU quality standards and regulations.
