Job Description
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Audio Editor to join our dynamic Digital News & Content team in Topeka, Kansas. This role is crucial for enhancing our audio storytelling capabilities across various platforms, including podcasts, voiceovers for video, and sonic branding elements. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical audio editing skills, a keen ear for detail, and a passion for news and digital content. Key Responsibilities
- Edit, mix, and master audio content for podcasts, news segments, and multimedia projects.
- Ensure high-quality audio production, including noise reduction, equalization, compression, and overall sonic polish.
- Collaborate with producers, reporters, and content creators to understand project requirements and vision.
- Select and incorporate sound effects, music, and voiceovers to enhance storytelling.
- Manage audio assets, organize files, and maintain consistent quality standards across all productions.
- Meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and creativity.
- Stay updated with industry trends, audio technology, and best practices in digital audio production.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in professional audio editing software (e.g., Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Logic Pro X).
- Strong understanding of audio post-production techniques, including mixing, mastering, and sound design.
- Excellent ear for detail and an ability to identify and rectify audio imperfections.
- Demonstrated experience in editing spoken word content for clarity and impact.
