Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Virtual Public Health Contact Tracers. This is a critical remote role focused on supporting public health initiatives by identifying and notifying individuals who may have been exposed to communicable diseases. You will conduct confidential interviews, provide guidance on isolation/quarantine procedures, and connect individuals with resources. This position requires excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced virtual environment. Immediate start is available for suitable candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct confidential, empathetic, and culturally sensitive interviews with individuals who have tested positive for communicable diseases to gather information on recent contacts.
- Notify exposed individuals of their potential exposure while maintaining confidentiality of the index case.
- Provide clear and concise information regarding isolation and quarantine guidelines, symptoms monitoring, and testing recommendations.
- Educate individuals on available public health resources, including testing sites, medical care, and social support services.
- Accurately document all information and communication in a secure database.
- Follow established scripts, policies, and procedures for contact tracing.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR).
- Collaborate with a team of contact tracers and public health professionals.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development as required.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to empathize and build rapport quickly.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in using computer systems, databases, and virtual communication tools.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
- Reliable internet connection and a private workspace suitable for confidential calls.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in healthcare, public health, customer service, or a related field.
- Familiarity with medical terminology or public health concepts.
- Experience with data entry and information management systems.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
