Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Wardrobe Hinge Adjuster to join our RONA Services team in Quebec City. In this role, you will be responsible for the precise adjustment, repair, and maintenance of wardrobe and cabinet hinges for our valued clients. This position requires excellent manual dexterity, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to ensuring all cabinet doors and wardrobe units function smoothly and align perfectly. You will be a key player in providing quick and effective solutions, enhancing the functionality and appearance of our clients’ cabinetry.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with wardrobe and cabinet hinges, identifying causes of misalignment, stiffness, or breakage.
- Perform precise adjustments to hinges to ensure proper door alignment and smooth operation.
- Repair or replace damaged hinges, ensuring the correct type and size of hardware is used.
- Lubricate hinges as needed to prevent squeaking and improve longevity.
- Inspect surrounding cabinet structures for any related damage or wear that may affect hinge performance.
- Provide clear explanations to clients regarding repairs and maintenance procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, respecting client's property.
- Manage inventory of common hinge types and related tools.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company standards during service calls.
Required Skills
- Proven experience with hand and power tools specific to cabinetry and woodworking.
- Excellent manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, and reaching.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role within home maintenance, carpentry, or furniture repair.
- Knowledge of various types of cabinet hinges (e.g., European, butt, overlay, inset).
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Certification or training in cabinetry or furniture repair.
