Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quality Control Tester to join our dynamic team in Elk Grove, CA. In this entry-level role, you will be crucial in ensuring the highest quality of our console and PC games before they reach our players. You will primarily focus on identifying, documenting, and tracking bugs and glitches across various gaming platforms. Key Responsibilities

  • Execute test plans and test cases thoroughly to identify bugs, glitches, and other defects in game software.
  • Accurately document, report, and track identified bugs using bug tracking software (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
  • Verify bug fixes and perform regression testing to ensure previously identified issues do not re-emerge.
  • Provide clear, concise, and constructive feedback on game functionality, usability, and overall player experience.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams, designers, and other QA testers to communicate findings effectively.
  • Perform compatibility testing across various hardware configurations and software environments.
  • Contribute to the improvement of test processes and methodologies.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, gaming platforms, and testing tools.

Required Skills

  • Strong passion for video games, especially console and PC titles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot subtle inconsistencies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with bug tracking software (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
  • Familiarity with various console platforms (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch) and PC gaming.
  • Experience creating and following test plans.
