Job Description
As a Cross-Dock Associate at our Oceanside, CA logistics hub, you will play a crucial role in the efficient movement of packages and freight through our facility. This fast-paced position requires a high degree of physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. You will be responsible for quickly and accurately sorting, loading, and unloading shipments, ensuring they are routed to their correct destinations without delays. This is a critical hands-on role that keeps the supply chain moving.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload freight safely and efficiently from trailers and containers.
- Sort and stage packages according to destination codes and established procedures.
- Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment as needed (certification provided, if required).
- Inspect freight for damage and accurately report discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational goals.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy packages (up to 75 lbs) repeatedly.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Basic reading and writing comprehension.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution center setting.
- Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment.
- Familiarity with cross-docking operations.
