Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Microsoft Documentation Clerk with an engineering focus to join our remote team. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity and accessibility of our engineering documentation within Microsoft platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing, formatting, and managing various technical documents, ensuring they meet company standards and are easily retrievable by our engineering teams. This is a 100% remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to critical projects from anywhere.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize, classify, and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, design documents, test plans, and manuals, within Microsoft SharePoint and other designated systems.
- Ensure all documentation adheres to established company standards for format, content, and version control.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to collect necessary information and ensure accurate representation of technical details.
- Assist in the creation and formatting of new documents using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Manage document access permissions and ensure data security protocols are followed.
- Conduct regular audits of documentation to identify and rectify discrepancies or outdated information.
- Support engineers in retrieving specific documents and information efficiently.
- Provide administrative support related to documentation tasks as needed.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to understand and manage technical documentation with an engineering focus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
- Familiarity with document management principles and version control practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Engineering Technology, Information Management, Business Administration).
- Previous experience in a documentation or administrative role within an engineering or technical environment.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar project management tools.
- Basic understanding of engineering terminology and concepts.
