Job Description
As a Cold Storage Associate at Taylor Farms, you will be a vital part of our supply chain, ensuring the quality and freshness of our produce. Working in a temperature-controlled environment, you will handle, store, and prepare products for shipment, playing a key role in delivering fresh food to millions. We provide all necessary freezing gear to keep you comfortable and safe. This is a dynamic role requiring attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate pallet jacks, forklifts, or other material handling equipment to move products within the cold storage facility (training provided if needed).
- Load and unload trucks efficiently, verifying counts and product integrity.
- Pick, pack, and stage orders accurately according to production schedules.
- Perform inventory checks and maintain proper product rotation.
- Adhere to all food safety, quality, and workplace safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Required Skills
- Ability to work in a cold environment (temperatures typically ranging from 30-38°F / -1 to 3°C) for extended periods.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or cold storage environment.
- Experience operating material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus.
