Job Description
Join CVS Health as a Pharmacy Technician on our casual weekend roster in South Gate, CA. Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
- Process patient information, including managing profiles, verifying insurance details, and handling payments.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service, answering patient questions and addressing concerns.
- Maintain accurate pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating medications.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Operate the cash register, process transactions, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Manage prescription refill requests and assist with medication prior authorizations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the pharmacy.
Required Skills
- Active and valid California Pharmacy Technician License.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work consistently on weekends (Saturday and Sunday).
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn pharmacy software systems.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- One (1) year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail setting.
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) from PTCB or NHA.
- Experience with CVS Health pharmacy operating systems (e.g., RxConnect).
- Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is a plus.
