Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Alumni Relations & University Giving Intern to join our dynamic team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in the crucial areas of alumni engagement and fundraising within a prestigious higher education institution. The successful candidate will support initiatives designed to foster strong, lifelong relationships with our alumni and contribute to our philanthropic efforts, directly impacting the future of the university. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the planning, promotion, and execution of alumni events, both virtual and in-person.
  • Support communication efforts, including drafting content for newsletters, social media, and website updates targeting alumni.
  • Conduct research on alumni to update contact information, identify potential donors, and track career milestones.
  • Process and acknowledge donations, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely donor recognition.
  • Provide administrative support to the Alumni Relations and Development team, including data entry, scheduling, and preparing reports.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions for new engagement strategies and fundraising campaigns.
  • Respond to alumni inquiries and provide excellent customer service.

Required Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated interest in higher education, non-profit work, or community engagement.
  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a relevant Bachelor's degree program.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an office environment, customer service, or event support.
  • Familiarity with CRM software or donor management systems.
  • Experience with social media management for professional organizations.
  • A positive attitude and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
