Job Description
Sobeys is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Cart Collection Attendant to join our team in Downtown Edmonton. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy staying active and working outdoors. As a Cart Collection Attendant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers have a seamless and convenient shopping experience by maintaining an organized and accessible supply of shopping carts. This role requires physical activity, including walking, pushing, and pulling carts in various weather conditions. Key Responsibilities
- Collect shopping carts from designated areas across the parking lot and store premises.
- Transport collected carts safely and efficiently to the store entrance or designated storage areas.
- Organize and stack carts properly to ensure accessibility for customers and prevent blockages.
- Conduct regular checks of the parking lot for stray carts and other debris.
- Assist customers with cart retrieval if needed, providing friendly and helpful service.
- Report any damaged carts or safety hazards to management promptly.
- Maintain a clean and tidy appearance in and around cart collection areas.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow).
- Capable of sustained physical activity including walking, standing, pushing, and pulling heavy loads.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role (e.g., cart attendant, lot attendant).
- Familiarity with grocery store operations.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
