Job Description
Are you a motivated and energetic 14-year-old looking for your first part-time job in a friendly retail environment? Publix is seeking enthusiastic teens to join our team as Retail Stockers in our New Port Richey store. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable work experience, learn about retail operations, and contribute to a team-oriented atmosphere. As a Retail Stocker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our shelves are well-stocked, organized, and presentable for our customers. You’ll work alongside experienced team members, receive training, and enjoy a supportive workplace. This position is perfect for someone eager to learn, has a good work ethic, and enjoys being active.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and unpack merchandise, verifying counts against invoices
- Stock shelves, rotate products, and maintain an organized and tidy sales floor
- Ensure products are properly priced and displayed according to store standards
- Assist customers with locating products and provide friendly service when needed
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of aisles, stockroom, and freezer/cooler areas
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies
- Support fellow team members and contribute to a positive working environment
Required Skills
- Must be 14 years of age or older (with valid work permit, if applicable)
- Ability to lift and carry merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds regularly
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- No prior experience required; we provide all necessary training
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends
- Enthusiasm for customer service and teamwork
