Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Digital Music Curator with a keen focus on streaming platforms to join our remote team. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the listening experience for millions of users by identifying, selecting, and organizing music for various playlists, stations, and editorial features. You will analyze trends, understand diverse musical genres, and possess a deep passion for discovering new and emerging artists, ensuring our platform remains a vibrant and engaging destination for music lovers globally. This position requires a proactive individual who can work independently while collaborating effectively with a distributed team.
Key Responsibilities
- Curate, program, and maintain a diverse range of playlists and editorial features across multiple genres and moods.
- Monitor music trends, artist releases, and cultural moments to ensure content relevance and freshness.
- Utilize internal analytics tools and market insights to optimize content performance and user engagement.
- Collaborate with content, marketing, and product teams to support new initiatives and campaigns.
- Identify and champion emerging artists and tracks, helping to break new talent on the platform.
- Provide feedback and insights on content strategy and user experience to improve platform offerings.
- Ensure all curated content adheres to copyright guidelines and internal content policies.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in music curation, programming, or editorial roles within the digital music or streaming industry.
- Demonstrable expertise and passion for a wide range of music genres and sub-genres.
- Strong understanding of current music industry trends, artists, and culture.
- Proficiency in data analysis and experience using metrics to inform content decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment with strong self-motivation and organizational skills.
- Fluency in English (US English).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience with content management systems and digital audio workstations.
- Established network within the music industry (artists, labels, managers).
- Familiarity with A/B testing methodologies for content optimization.
- Proficiency in additional languages.
