Job Description

Are you passionate about pets and have boundless energy? PetSmart is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Dog Daycare Attendant to join our team in Decatur, Georgia. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising dog playgroups, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment for our furry guests, and maintaining the cleanliness of our facility. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise dogs in playgroups, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Engage with dogs in a positive, energetic, and appropriate manner.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary environment, including regular cleaning of play areas, kennels, and common spaces.
  • Monitor dog behavior closely, addressing any conflicts or issues promptly and effectively.
  • Provide basic care, such as feeding, watering, and administering medication as needed and according to established protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with pet parents regarding their dog's day, behavior, and any concerns.
  • Follow all safety protocols, company policies, and procedures to ensure a secure environment for pets and associates.
  • Assist with check-in and check-out procedures for daycare clients.

Required Skills

  • High energy level and physical stamina to work actively with dogs throughout the day.
  • Genuine love for animals and a fundamental understanding of dog behavior and communication signals.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and pet parents.
  • Strong sense of reliability, punctuality, and responsibility.
  • Comfortable performing cleaning duties, including handling animal waste, to maintain a hygienic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous professional experience in animal care, such as pet sitting, dog walking, or a dog daycare setting.
  • Knowledge of different dog breeds, their typical temperaments, and unique needs.
  • Basic pet first aid and CPR certification.
