Job Description
Are you a visually-driven individual with a passion for fashion and an eye for detail? Fenwick is seeking a dynamic and creative Visual Merchandiser Assistant to join our vibrant team in Jesmond. In this exciting role, you will support the Visual Merchandising team in creating captivating and engaging in-store displays that enhance the customer shopping experience and drive sales. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Visual Merchandising team in executing store layouts, window displays, and in-store promotions according to brand guidelines and seasonal themes.
- Prepare and maintain display elements, including mannequins, props, and signage, ensuring they are always clean, well-presented, and in excellent condition.
- Support the team in arranging and styling merchandise effectively to maximize visual impact and highlight key products.
- Monitor stock levels for display items and communicate needs to relevant departments.
- Help conduct regular walk-throughs to assess visual standards, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary adjustments.
- Collaborate with sales associates and department managers to ensure visual merchandising efforts align with sales goals and customer flow.
- Stay updated on current fashion trends, visual merchandising techniques, and competitor activities to contribute fresh ideas.
- Ensure all visual merchandising activities comply with health and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Strong creative flair and a keen eye for aesthetics, color, and composition.
- Basic understanding of visual merchandising principles and retail display techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment, often under tight deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to move and arrange merchandise, fixtures, and props.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- A portfolio demonstrating visual aptitude or creative projects (e.g., photography, design, styling).
- Previous experience (even internships or volunteer work) in retail, fashion, or a creative field.
- Qualification in Visual Merchandising, Fashion Design, Fine Arts, or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with the Fenwick brand and its aesthetic.
