Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Quality Control Technician to join our dedicated team in Escondido, CA. This crucial role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance within our pharmacy operations. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine quality checks on pharmaceutical products, compounding processes, and equipment.
- Monitor and verify medication expiration dates, storage conditions, and inventory accuracy.
- Conduct environmental monitoring within pharmacy sterile and non-sterile compounding areas.
- Document all quality control activities, observations, and deviations meticulously.
- Assist in the investigation of quality incidents and non-conformances, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures (e.g., USP <797>, USP <800>).
- Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain and calibrate quality control equipment according to established schedules.
- Participate in staff training and education related to quality control best practices.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ year of experience in a pharmacy setting, preferably with exposure to quality control or sterile compounding.
- Strong attention to detail and meticulous documentation skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and pharmacy management systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT).
- Associate's degree in a related scientific field.
- Experience with USP <797> and USP <800> compliance.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
