Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Trash Collector to join our mall operations team in Austin. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and tidiness of our shopping center by regularly emptying trash bins, maintaining waste receptacles, and assisting with general upkeep. This is an essential position that contributes directly to the positive experience of our shoppers and tenants.
Key Responsibilities
- Regularly patrol designated areas of the shopping mall to identify and empty trash bins.
- Replace trash liners and ensure all waste receptacles are clean and functional.
- Transport collected waste to designated compaction or disposal areas.
- Adhere to established safety protocols and procedures for waste handling and disposal.
- Report any maintenance issues or observed hazards to the supervisory team.
- Assist with other general cleaning duties as needed to maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
- Operate compactors or other waste management equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with mall visitors and staff.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and walking for extended periods.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Attention to detail to ensure thorough waste collection.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures.
