Job Description

Are you a skilled driver looking for a stable, local opportunity with immediate openings? Republic Services is seeking dedicated Septic Pumper Drivers to join our team in Carmel, IN. This vital role involves safely operating and maintaining septic pumping trucks, providing essential waste management services to our residential and commercial customers. You’ll be responsible for the efficient collection and transport of septic waste, adhering to all safety regulations and company standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a septic pumper truck on assigned routes, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Pump septic tanks and grease traps in accordance with company safety procedures and environmental regulations.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Maintain accurate service logs and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Perform minor maintenance and daily cleaning of the vehicle.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and dispatch regarding service needs and schedules.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or incidents immediately.
  • Ensure proper disposal of waste materials at designated facilities.

Required Skills

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) – Class B minimum with tanker endorsement.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and climbing.
  • Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Punctual and reliable work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a septic pumper driver or in a related waste management field.
  • Knowledge of local wastewater regulations.
  • Mechanical aptitude for basic vehicle and equipment troubleshooting.
