Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised High School Admin Aide to provide essential administrative support to our busy school office and various departments. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient day-to-day running of the school, supporting staff, students, and parents, and maintaining a positive school environment. The successful candidate will be a vital part of our local school community, contributing directly to the educational mission of Pimlico Academy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the school office, including data entry, filing, photocopying, and managing correspondence.
  • Assist with student attendance tracking and record keeping, communicating with parents as necessary.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing calls, greeting visitors, and directing inquiries appropriately.
  • Support staff with various tasks such as preparing teaching materials, scheduling appointments, and organising events.
  • Maintain student records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in line with GDPR guidelines.
  • Assist with the distribution of school communications to parents and guardians.
  • Order and manage office supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, tidy, and welcoming school environment.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in an administrative support role, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional and friendly demeanour.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable with school management systems.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred Qualifications

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above.
  • Experience using SIMS (School Information Management System) or similar school databases.
  • First Aid certification.
  • An understanding of school policies and procedures.
